Zinc (Zn) is an essential trace element for all animals and is involved in virtually all of life’s processes, having a major catalytic role in protein, lipid, carbohydrate and nucleic acid metabolism. Additionally, zinc plays a role in more than 250 essential enzymatic reactions.

Typically, zinc is supplied via an inorganic salt (ZnSO₄) that quickly disassociates upon being consumed by the animal. Once dissociated, zinc ions can quickly bind with any of a number of antagonists, which can significantly reduce both the supply and availability of the zinc to the animal.

Micronutrients’ product is Zinc Hydroxycloride, also known as TBZC.  It maintains its structural integrity, yet is easily absorbed in the animal’s intestinal tract. This leads to very low interactions with other essential nutrients in feed mixtures.
